Manchester City Fan Invades Pitch and Pretends to be a City Footballer
A Manchester City supporter invaded the pitch today during the pre-match warmup against Everton, and tried to pass himself off as one of the City footballers.
The City supporter who was escorted off the field bears a striking resemblance to Manchester City defender Javi Garcia. But the Everton stewards weren’t fooled when the City fan invaded the pitch and ran along the touchline to join Roberto Mancini’s squad.
Ironically, the Manchester City pitch invader is believed to be from the London area, but is not a Manchester United supporter.
Manchester City supporters must have been thinking ‘Anything you can do United, we can do better.’ Except not in this case or in this season’s Premier League title race. Manchester City lost 2-0 to Everton today to hand cross-town rivals United a 15-point lead at the top of the Premier League with eight matches to go.
The pitch invader is believed to be a BBC comedian who often imitates professional footballers (watch video here).
Today’s incident reminds me of the 2001 incident when football supporter Karl Power dressed up in a Manchester United kit and managed to find his way on to the field, and even joined in the official team photograph. That’s him on the far left of the video below.

This is actually a bbc comedian,Simon Brodkin as his alter ego Jason Bent. If you youtube Jason Bent you’ll see some funny skits as the alter ego footballer.
Thanks Jason. I updated the article with a link to one of the comedian’s videos.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
You may get away with this at other grounds, not against scouse stewards!!! They’ve seen an hear’d it all!!!

Might have been Francois, the car salesman trying to get his identity back from Toure
maybe they should have tried him out might have showed some heart and spine that city was lacking.
GFYR thanks Billy D
Heart and spine? More like a tactical fail in the first half, followed by an inability to shield the ball in the second, which allowed everton to put in key tackle after key tackle without breaking a sweat.
Incompetence is completely different from a lack of heart and spine.
Would be interesting, and perhaps better, if he really played
I think Alex Kolarov invaded the pitch and pretended to be a footballer yesterday.
Haha yes he was bloody awful at both ends of the pitch. We need a proper left back this summer; clichy isnt that great either.
Probably should of let this guy stay on, City needed all the help they could get
Stewart Downing has been getting away with it for years.
