Arsenal Home Tickets for Manchester City Priced Up to £126: The Daily EPL
Arsenal is facing a lot of criticism and scorn today regarding their prices for this weekend’s match against Manchester City with some home tickets priced up to £126. A third of away tickets available to Manchester City (priced at £62) have been sent back in a message of protest from City supporters. It’s no wonder that some supporters feel that they’re being priced out of the game.

Let me say that English football fans may be spoiled. In the US you easily can pay $100.00 for the worst seat in the house. Try courtside NBA tickets for $250.00. No taking the tube for about a dollar US to go to the United Center in Chicago. Most of the crowd drives and try parking at $25.00.
3 years ago for a Gold Cup match at Soldier Field in Chicago parking cost $40.00! I clearly feel bad for the English fan but we have had sky high prices for a long time.
Here in the US it’s normal for teams to have variable ticket prices based on a lot of factors- games on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday afternoons are usually more expensive than games on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, and which team is the opponent and how often they visit also factors in (for example, in basketball, an East Coast team can sell a ticket for a Sunday afternoon game against the first-place Miami Heat in their only appearance in that arena that season for a lot more than a Tuesday night game against a middle-of-the-pack Toronto Raptors team who will be back a couple of more times that season since they are in the same division). It’s a matter of what the market will bear.
I have to say there is something fishy about this story as two weeks ago I tried to get tickets for this game as I did last year but the game was sold out. I note on arsenals website this was also the case. could this be another made up story? If not I wonder how it can be explained that both clubs have put the game as sold out and neither club has mentioned re sale or returns?
