Chelsea’s Pursuit of Newcastle’s Demba Ba Stalls Over Contract Terms: The Daily EPL
Chelsea’s hopes of signing Demba Ba from Newcastle United have seemingly been dashed after talks broke down over contract terms. The Newcastle United striker has a release clause in his contract that allows a club to come in and sign him if they bid £7 million. While Chelsea and other clubs are interested in Senegalese international, Newcastle is still trying to renegotiate the contract so they can keep Ba at the club for a few more seasons.

Chelsea’s deal for Demba Ba has stalled because John Terry couldn’t agree personal terms with his wife
Ba going to Chelsea doesn’t make sense for him as he wants to play every game. He won’t get that at Chelsea. He was unhappy when Pardew dropped him to the bench at the beginning of the season. So most likely he wants assurances that he will start for Chelsea and I don’t see that happening.
He wants to maximize his value before the relegation battle diminishes it
Doesn’t Ba have knees like Owen Hargreeves?
@ JTM
He is my best starting 11 since 1980 (when I can first remember being blown away by seeing spurs)
The system would be a 3-5-2…… It is incredibly difficult to pick a midfield as we have had outstanding midfielders at spurs, I would like to include Teddy sheringham, Ricky villa and Ozzie Ardiles on the bench but limited myself to 7 or I would have also added Stephen Carr & Christian Zeige. This team is what I would play in a BPL game today, and I think would xomfortably win the BPL….
IMO it has the right amount of pace and creativity as well as clinical finishing for today’s game, it was a game in the late eighties early 90′s I would have added razor rudduck lol. It’s incredibly difficult to choose an all time.

Subs
Lloris
Mabbut
Sandro
Lineker
Waddle
Ginola
Modric
These subs would allow for 2 good system changes depending on what I was facing for injuries or tactics
There are some great impact players on the bench too!
No Greaves ?
It’s from 1980 onwards not an all time…. That’s to difficult, I never watched them before 1980. All Above I have seen with my own eyes.
JCL !!! ( teasing ) have a good New Year.
Happy new year to YOU too,…it feels like we will meet in one of this years cups… Looking forward to another year of banter! (A CFC expense)
Loved Gary mabbut and Chris waddle back in the day.
I never seen anyone make a step over look so easy as Chris waddle, pure class he was.
