FA to Take No Action Against Ashley Williams For Clearance That Hit Van Persie’s Head: The Daily EPL
The FA has wisely decided not to take action against Swansea captain Ashley Williams for his clearance yesterday that hit Robin van Persie’s head. The incident happened after van Persie was fouled on the edge of the penalty area by Nathan Dyer.
Sir Alex Ferguson, perhaps in a move to turn the public’s attention away from a poor performance by Manchester United and two dropped points, bizarrely came out and said that Robin van Persie “could have been killed.” Thankfully The FA used some sense to take no further action.

It’s good to see other managers come to the defense of Williams. Redknapp, Pardew, Martinez and Rodgers. It was a silly thing for him to do but in no way was it as bad as Fergie has made it out to be.
Bloody hell Swansea Ashley Williams. Not fit to be a human being, not to mention a footballer, or worse, a captain!
FA MUST BAN HIM FOR LIFE. If not everyone else can do so & not be punished.

Rory Delap already got sent off for this in the first season we were up against Man City. From that POV the ref is inconsistent in his decision making. No surprise there though.

You’ve got to be kidding. That was one of the worst tackles in the history of English football. Keane admitted that he purposely went out with the intention of physically hurting Haaland. Where was Ferguson’s outrage after that one?

I have always said it all deepens on who’s ox is being gored.
Keane made a horrible tackle in the past but doesn’t mean any other future player playing for Man U should be a punching bag for moves like that especially when the whistle has been blown. Correct me if I’m wrong but Keane was also punished and fined for that.

In Roy Keane’s biography, Keane admitted he purposely went into the tackle with the intention of hurting Alf Inge Haaland. After this was revealed, The FA led an inquiry into the matter and banned Keane for an additional five matches and fined him £150,000.

Gaffer I was going to keep winding you up because i knew at some point you would post the video. It’s a slow day on the site and I’m on a train to NYC for x-mas and I was hoping someone would take the bait.
I read the book and know what Keano said after the fact.

You guys should check out some NHL cheap shot videos, this wasn’t that bad compared to the cheap moves in ice hockey.
