Ferguson Claims Man United Could Have Put Six Past a Poor Arsenal: The Daily EPL
It was an awful day at the office for Arsenal Football Club on Saturday with a poor performance compounded by Jack Wilshere’s red card. And made even worse by two other things: (1) Andre Santos asking Robin van Persie to swap shirts at HALF TIME, and (2) Fergie saying that his side could have put six past the Gunners.

I guess the old man forgets you actually have to score. United didn’t even play well. Arsenal was just worse. Besides one of the United goals was a Vermalen gift.
I hope the club takes a stand against Santos. Not only is he a liability, but asking for RVPs shirt at half time is hugely disrespectful to the Arsenal away fans, who were outstanding throughout the dreadful performance.
Robbin Van Dirty could have waited until they were inside the tunnel, RVD new what he was doing.
Then they should have. Pretty sure goal differential was quite important for them last season. What a blowhard.
Yeah that was kind of the point. He was mad at his own team for not putting up more goals when they should have because goal difference is important.
If only they could have played a decent final ball.
SAF is correct: had his team finished better in the final third, they easily could have scored six or more. They seemed to lack a killer instinct to put a seemingly disinterested Gunners team away when they had a chance, even up a man.
To me, Ferguson was calling out his own side more so than the Arsenal squad. He knows that his players need to make hay while the sun is shining, not only for goal differential but also for the inevitable comebacks that quality opponents will provide.
Fergie would know a lot about conceding 6 at old Trafford, wouldn’t he?
haha
