Sunderland Close to Signing Adam Johnson, Jermaine Jenas and Danny Rose: The Nightly EPL
Awake the sleeping giant! Sunderland, who has been painfully quiet in this summer transfer window, is on the verge of signing Adam Johnson, Jermaine Jenas and Danny Rose in a mad scramble to add some talent and depth to a Sunderland side. Maybe the club is finally feeling the pressure and complaints from supporters? Whatever the case, the three players certainly don’t fill me with a lot of hope for the Black Cats. Johnson has moments of wonder. Jenas is a has-been, and Rose needs more playing time.

as I Spurs fan I gladly open the door for Jermaine but Danny Rose I thought had some promise- also I am a little relieved Adam Johnson is not going to Spurs as was rumoured. I plead some ignorance to Johnson as I don’t know if his lack of pt in City was due to skill or a case of big team just not playing or developing young players (ala McEachran at Chelsea) Johnson seems can be a help to Sunderland but I was hoping for somthing more established for Spurs
I think we should throw in Bentley too. Inspite of the danny rose 30 yard monster to stuff the arse at the lane that meant he will always get s good reception at the lane, he is not as quick, smart or skilled as Naughton. His sending off against villa in the pathetic redilting draw couldn’t have left a great impression with levy. Now just move Gallas, jenas, Benny, Huddlestone and Dawson on and it will free up more roster positions and resources for other more talented players waiting for their opportunity.
They have all had there chances and unfortunately for them just don’t have what it takes to play in the fast paced high risk, smart system of AVB.
COYS!
Nice move, especially to grab Adam Johnson, but it’s pretty clear that their most glaring need is at striker, isn’t it?
Rumor has it that Brendan Rogers has been given another 10m to purchase Johnson with.
Johnson has talent but he often goes missing in games. He makes one or two great moves in a game which show up in the highlights but what is ignored is that he is not consistent throughout a game. Add to this that he has an attitude problem and that’s not a good sign. Still, maybe MON can get the best out of him.
Liverpool should stay clear as they have enough overhyped British players on their books who cost a lot. They’d be better off signing Scott Sinclair who can be bought for around 5 million pounds, a fee Manchester City are supposedly buying him for. He would also be familiar with Rodgers’ system.
Danny Rose is an average footballer. Why he’s still at spurs and why he got selected for team gb is beyond me. JJ is passed it but I’m a big fan of Adam Johnson, he’s too good for Sunderland.

I read something earlier saying tht Liverpool has lost interest in johnson
Jermaine Jenus……never rated him….. Danny Rose is average…
Adam Johnson is brilliant , great buy.
Sunderland now need Olsson and another Centre half to complete the team
