England vs Sweden: 3pm ET

The kickoff between England and Sweden has been delayed 15 minutes to 3pm ET due to the temporary suspension of Ukraine-France. Hopefully the weather in Kiev will be more dry than the rain-soaked Donbass Arena.
England team: Hart Cole Lescott Terry Johnson Young Parker Gerrard Milner Welbeck Carroll
Sweden team: Isaksson; Granqvist, Mellberg, Olsson (J), Olsson (M); Svensson, Kallstrom; Larsson, Ibrahimovic, Elm; Elmander.
Needless to say, both teams need to win this match. A win for England will put them into the driving seat for their last game against Ukraine. Sweden, meanwhile, will be more desperate to pick up points after losing against Ukraine. This is a battle between two sides who know each other quite well. Let’s hope it’s a good result for England.

In all liklihood I agree. However, the sunglasses and tight camera work leave a lot to the imagination.

Yes and yes most likely. In terms of power ranking thus far I have to go with:
1) Netherlands
2) Croatia
3) Sweden (but could potentially move ahead of Croatia if we got another camera angle.)
4) Ukraine
Now if I’m Alex Muller I have a very tough decision coming up with Greece v. Russia, as there is great talent on both sides of that match.
It is one man’s opinion but I would go with the Russians.
Thank goodness for that storm limiting lalas exposure!

Brilliant header by Andy Carroll. So far, so good. But England has to be careful. Sweden is certainly dangerous.
I’m hoping England can hold on to the lead long enough for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to come on and run those tired Swedish legs ragged.

Ibra just walked into Hart’s goal, helped himself to his drink, then threw it back into the goal and the top busted off the bottle! First time i’ve seen someone help himself to another teams drink.

That wasn’t easy, but congratulations to England on a huge win against Sweden. What a piece of class by Danny Welbeck to win it for The Three Lions.
A point is all England now needs in their finel game against Ukraine. However, Ukraine will need to beat England to go through.

Great game by Walcott. My father was commenting how slow the Sweeds were so i told him they should put Walcott in. Good game by the England team tho. Also a good game by Ibra, he always looked dangerous, but Sweden is a poor team tho.
I think Sweden is a poor team, England made them look better than they are, but that’s because this England team is not good enough. Well, not without Rooney and Wilshere. I think England has to have all their best players on the field and playing their best to stand a chance and we never get either of those. There’s always 3 or 4 players injured and the ones that are there usually suck compared to the way they play for their clubs
Ashley Young sucked tonight, he’s usually one of our better players but I don’t know what happened tonight
Am I the only one who thinks that Ballack is a terrible analyst? Every time he is asked a question it’s unbelievably awkward, and he rarely actually answers the questions he is asked, and ten when he does it’s just cliche.
Also,, I’m pretty sure the commentator got Welbeck’s first name wrong after he scored.
you do know that english is not his first language right??
Of course I know that, and it’s a million times better than my German, but if it’s not good enough to converse on tv or understand what is being asked, then maybe espy shouldn’t have hired him in the first place. Roberto Martinez’s first language isn’t English either but he understands the questions he is being asked and gives insightful replies.
At least Ballack has an excuse. What’s Lalas’ excuse? He American?
