Aston Villa Away Shirt for 2011-12 Season: Leaked Photo

A photo has been leaked showing Aston Villa’s away shirt for the 2011-12 Premier League season.
The new design features a two-tone gray shirt with a checkerboard design on the front (and presumably on the back) as well as a claret collar. Designed and manufactured by Nike, the away shirt design is very similar to the Aston Villa home kit. Similarly to the home kit, I’m not a fan at all of shirts that feature checkerboards. To me, they’re the perfect example of taking something simple and just making the design too busy. Why use checkerboards when a simple design would be more effective?

I think it’s bloody awful, not as bad as the home shirt which is absolute sh*te.
so where are the Chess pieces that go with this top?
It’s ok…It would be better if it was just plain, howevere I have seen worse
It’s not a patch on the black one we have just used….
I think it should be ROYAL BLUE!!
Looks like something that a jockey might wear, given that Big Eck is a Jock a good connection perhaps?
If this is supposed to subliminally attract Modric to Villa, I’m not too sure it will work…
I think it’s OK, but it’s a little disappointing coming on the heels of the 10-11 away kit, which is/was one of my favorites. Would’ve liked to see Villa keep that kit for another year…
Don’t mind the chess-board design, but the collar is ugly. Round neck collars look uniformly ugly.
I agree with Beano OK for the horses not the pitch.
The best thing about that one, you hang it outside your front door, and no burglar will step within 100 paces of your house.
I’m hoping the checks are more subtle than the picture like the USMNT stripe on their whites.
awk wouldnt you know our fans moaning and groaning yet again!!!!!!!!!!
You’re all mentally ill. It’s gorgeous and very distinctive. When worn with the whole kit, it’s makes picking out your team mates for those inevitable long ball passes much easier too. Yes simple is good and why deviate from the plain white but in 6 months time when you’ve worn it and seen it on our boys, you’ll come to love it.
I especially love the idea that you can buy it without that awful sponsors logo on it too. It means there’s space for us to put a pic of mcleish on the front with a suitably witty strap line underneathe! UTV!
