Liam Brady's Swerving Goal for Arsenal Against Spurs, 1978: Video

One of the most extraordinary goals that Liam Brady scored for Arsenal was on December 23, 1978. And of all teams, it was against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the north London derby. The 1978-79 season saw the return of Tottenham to the top flight, but Spurs were buoyed by the addition of Argentina stars Ossie Ardiles and Ricardo Villa.

Arsenal completely ripped Tottenham apart that day and won 5-0. But the game will perhaps be best remembered for an incredible goal scored by Irishman Liam Brady. Watch the above video to see the goal. And if you’re in the mood for a few laughs, watch a spoof of the goal below starring Baddiel and Skinner, and Brady.
