Wolves Score From Wonderful Free Kick On Opening Day Of Season: Video

When you think of Wolverhampton Wanderers, the words ‘glamor club’ don’t often come to mind. But in their opening match of the 2010-11 Premier League season, they created something a little extra special that you wouldn’t expect. An incredibly creative goal that was world class.

The sheer brilliance of the goal reminded the excellent 101 Great Goals blog of a similar goal which was scored in 1970.

If you’ve never seen the goal before, I hadn’t, take a look:

Be sure to watch the replay of it to believe your eyes.

Wolves ran this set piece last season at the end of the year against Portsmouth when Pompey beat them 3-1. A great David James save kept it from the back of the net.

  5. LS says:

    Wow! Both are amazing!
