bbc itv logo Where to Watch UK TV Coverage of Euro 2008In the United Kingdom, BBC and ITV will have live TV coverage of the 2008 European Championship this summer. Twenty seven of the matches will be shown between BBC1 and ITV1, while four will be shown on digital channels BBC3 and ITV4. According to the Euro 2008 schedule, most of the matches will be shown at primetime in the UK at 7:45pm (2:45pm ET).

In many ways, the TV coverage may seem quite foreign for Brits. That’s because many viewers have become so used to seeing most of their football coverage on Sky Sports. However, due to legislation in the UK, major international football tournaments have to be shown on free-to-air channels.

According to The Guardian, the ITV team of studio anchors will include Steve Rider, Matt Smith and Craig Doyle. The BBC, meanwhile, will presumably feature their usual team of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson.
