Aston Villa May Tour United States this Summer

aston villa crest Aston Villa May Tour United States this SummerIf Aston Villa fails to qualify for the Intertoto Cup, they’ll be visiting the U.S. for a preseason tour this summer. That’s according to Villa manager Martin O’Neill who has two plans depending on what happens in the next few weeks. If the Birmingham club does qualify for the Intertoto, then Villa fans can kiss their United States tour goodbye.

If Villa does visit the United States, they’ll be the second Premier League club to confirm preseason friendlies in North America. The other club is West Ham United, who will be the opponent in the MLS All-Star Game. Liverpool and Derby are also rumored to be touring North America this summer, but nothing has been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Tottenham have already announced they’ll be heading to Asia for their preseason tours.

Are Derby going to play against A-League sides? :) I can’t see them beating an MLS team the way they’ve been.

I’d probably go to see Villa or Pool, but the other two I wouldn’t bother with unless the games were really close!
