Happy Fourth of July!

USA Canada+PK score Happy Fourth of July!

I’m finally catching up on some of the e-mails I’ve been meaning to get to, so this one is sort of timely…

Courtesy of EPL Talk reader eplnfl, here’s a photo slideshow from the recent USA v Canada Gold Cup match from Soldier Field, Chicago — including a photo of eplnfl next to the appropriately named, Dr. Scores.

The US’s next match is against Colombia on Thursday night on GolTV. Hopefully the side can put find the back of the net with some pride.

Enjoy!

Good job on the slide show. The only thing missing that night was having a few other members of the community in attendance. Glad I was able to share the match with everyone here thanks to the Gaffer.

For informational purposes, Soldiers Field has been the host of the opening match of the 94 World Cup, has had the likes of Manchester United and England play there and now the Gold Cup Final. By the way, it is the home of the NFC Champion Chicago Bears.

But it is no Toyota Park, which is one of the premier soccer venues in the nation……my only regret is that Bridgeview is a fairly long way from Chicago and not accesible by the L. Nonetheless, if anyone gets to Chicago soon, they should check out the gem of a park where the Fire now plays its home games.

  3. Kartik says:

Nice photos Lou. I am thankful the ref in that match was so partial to us, otherwise we could be still stewing over an embarresing exit from the Gold Cup.

    Kartik:

On target comments on Chicago. I have not yet been to Toyota Park and should get out soon.

Do let me say that once you are in Soldiers Field you have a good view.

The ref should of never put 4 mins. of extra time on the clock anyway.
