Trip Down Memory Lane for Brighton and Watford
Three interesting stories from the world of football today:
Brighton and Hove Albion, currently, in League One in England will be honoring the ten year anniversary of their departure from their Goldstone Ground (that they occupied from 1902 to 1997) with ’97 ticket prices, prizes for the best retro kit worn and more.
Sadly, the south coast club still doesn’t have a permanent ground and continues to play at the Withdean Stadium, which is an athletics stadium (see fans pictured above).

Watford has received planning permission to expand Vicarage Road to a capacity pf 24,000. The work, which includes building low-cost housing for the community, is expected to begin this summer.
Financial experts believe that German manufacturer Puma is interested in making a bid for Umbro, the English sportswear and equipment company. Umbro, meanwhile, has been busy on their own securing new replica kit deals for the 2007/2008 season with Sunderland, West Ham United and Hull City.

Great link to the Albion news. As a Brighton fan still getting over the loss of the Goldstone ten years ago (there’s now a Toys’R'Us where I used to stand) and still awaiting a new ground, it’s good to know our cause is still remembered.
